Week Notes 25#19

• Accidentally got Copilot enabled while writing these and it's been interesting trying to see it predicting somewhat correctly some of the things I Was going to say
• It was Elastic's Engineering All Hands this week - which I didn't go to due to the dire state of the US, and not feeling safe getting there/back - so a very quiet week at home for me
  • But hugely got a lot of FOMO from seeing all the fun stuff happening, missing my team, and generally allowing me to be a bit mopey 💔
  • Managed to get tonnes of stuff done given I was able to settle in for heavy focus time, with literally nothing on the calendar (aside from some late-in-the-day external 1-1s) and with Anna in the office a lot this week, my lunch timing was also all over the place - not quite a consolation prize, but felt glad it was a productive one
  • One key achievement was going from 65 Slack notifications (i.e. threads, unanswered messages) down to 11!
  • Didn't get a chance to present with Ellie due to (somewhat foreseen) tech issues, so was a bit gutted
    • Especially as I got a fresh haircut 🥲
  • Fortunately a quiet week of on-call
• Was a good blog week, having some headspace to get some things written
• Wrote about the last year for oapi-codegen, which took a bit of time, but glad to have written it and 🤞🏼 folks may see it and think "oh hey, yeah we should sponsor the maintainers doing great work!"
• Had a nice Thursday at Working Man's Pizza - was a little chilly, so glad we got our order in early and could sit inside early
• Cookie's been very annoying overnight this week
  • One night there were screeching foxes out in the road which was rather unnerving (for everyone)
• Had some good chats with folks this week
• Rekt a team 1v3 on Apex Legends this week on Olympus, where the team were trying to punch me to death, but didn't realise I was gonna get them till it was too late (and maybe not that massive an achievement)
• Thought I'd splurge my mythic shards/recolour things on the R301, but not got it all
• Got a cute cuddle with Joe the dog who is always a cute lil' fuzzball, but he really took a shine to me 😻
• Had a good gym
• Had an extra good Asda pizza - from one new member of staff - and it was so cheesy 😋
• Been doing a bit of a LinkedIn cleanup and trying to unfollow as many people who I don't actively want to follow
• Spent a few days playing around with Charm's Bubbletea TUI framework for a tool to better explore Renovate debug logs
  • Fun doing some more LLM-y bits
  • Also good to play around with olimorris/codecompanion.nvim
• Morph's had some overnight (and during the day) living room time 🥰

  • An excellent end to the series, and love that it led into the opening minutes of Rogue One
  • Watched all of the episodes in one night 😅 So very good!!

  • A great start to the new season 🔥
  • And been enjoying listening to the podcast

  • It's been on our TODO list for a while, and we almost watched it last week but didn't get round to it
  • Definitely dislike the men in the film, though - they're not getting any sympathy from us 🤷🏼
• The Rings of Power
  • Started to get back to our rewatch of the first season (ever so slowly)
